BIS is in a safe and quiet location that is easily accessible. Being part of our local community our spacious school campus has an authentic Balinese ambiance. Our students benefit from not being inside all day and from sharing space with younger and older children. The open, natural and inspiring campus invites students to explore themselves.
Our library has about 40,000 titles in its database. Students may come to the library at lunchtime and during their break times for research and study. Our library has resources to support the curricula for all grades. It has also a number of mother tongue books to support all languages within the school. Using the online catalogue, students can search for books from school or from home.
Primary School classes come in weekly for book exchange and library information literacy skills. Secondary school classes schedule lessons on information literacy as needed and in collaboration with the librarian.
The school gladly accepts donations from parents to help us enlarge our mother tongue collection.
Our classrooms are designed to support the learning process of our students. In Primary, the classrooms are organized in stations and equipped with age appropriate technology. Our students fill the classrooms throughout the year with posters and paintings about their learning. While the children in Primary have most of their lessons in their homeroom, Secondary children change the room according to subject. Depending on the subject and the teacher, the rooms in Secondary are set up to do group work or with tables facing the whiteboard.
