Welcome to BIS!
All international schools create, through the input of the whole community, a culture which is specific to the school. The culture of the Bali Island School (formerly Bali International School) is defined through its Mission Statement and its Guiding Statements and brought to life by our community. The BIS community comes from all over the world, making our student body and our faculty very culturally diverse. Our small size and the community’s internationalism help facilitate our appreciation of cultural differences and similarities.
As a small school, BIS is able to offer each student a many varied experiences so that they explore their strengths, assume positions of leadership and take risks in a safe and caring environment. Their strengths emerge through participation in our classes and curricular programs, our arts program and the many other opportunities in athletics and extra-curricular involvement.
BIS is a member of both the International Baccalaureate (IB) and the Council of International Schools (CIS). What does this mean in practice? Being part of the IB means teaching is inquiry-based, learning is active and all concepts and skills are taught within context. We are a 3 programme, World-school which means that all our students, from 3 year-olds onwards, benefit from an IB education. You child will be actively engaged in his/her learning, will understand how his/her learning is related to life, and will have high aspirations for his/her future.
Please come and visit us! We are very proud of our school and we love to show you around.
