Bali International School is recognised as an International School by the Ministry of Education of Indonesia.
In addition, BIS has been accredited by three external organisations:
1. The International Baccalaureate (www.ibo.org), authorised to offer all three of the IB’s programmes
2. WASC, the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (http://www.wascweb.org/), since 1995, and
3 CIS, the Council of International Schools (www.cois.org), since 2010
Accreditation by national and international external bodies ensures that BIS is constantly improving the planning, programme, staffing and facilities at the school to those of the highest international standards. An intensive self-study process is followed by a personal visit by an accreditation team that gives critical feedback to the school in order to make improvements. An action plan is created by BIS faculty and staff to respond to the extensive commendations and recommendations that come from such visits and, as part of the accreditation cycle (normally five years), BIS continues to make suggested improvements to the school.
Accreditation is continuous and has at its core, regardless of accrediting body, a common goal: to propel the school further towards excellence and ultimately lead to changes that further student learning.
