Marion Halim receives full BIS scholarship
Congratulations to Marion Halim who has received a two-year full academic scholarship to Bali International School!
Marion’s family have been at the school for two years with Marion’s older brother Nathan graduating with a full IB Diploma and early acceptance into Melbourne University to study Business. Marion joined BIS last year after attending the IGCSE programme at the Taman Rama School where he was the youngest student ever to sit for the IGCSE O levels in Mathematics for which he received the highest grade A.
Marion has been placed on an accelerated programme here at BIS with early placement into Grade 9 last year. He is currently taking accelerated programmes in Mathematics and Indonesian Language A1 along with a number of other students.
Marion joins a list of exceptional students who have been awarded BIS Scholarships in the past including Elena Anello (who followed up her BIS successes with a full scholarship to Wesleyan University, USA), Hadi Tjandra, Robin Muerkoester as well as Natasha Berting (currently here at BIS in Grade 11).
The school’s scholarship programme has been in place for four years, giving non-BIS an opportunity to enroll as well as recognizing the academic ability of currently enrolled students. Academic excellence aside, recipients of a BIS Scholarship must also portray the personal qualities BIS values: commitment to self and community.
The scholarship programme is an equal opportunity programme open to all internal and external candidates to BIS. For further information on the school’s scholarship programme please do not hesitate to contact the school.
