Bali Island School (BIS) is an IB Continuum School, offering all three of the International Baccalaureate’s programs, and has been in existence for almost 40 years.
We have an amazing community made up of passionate educators, eager students and engaged parents.

The International Baccalaureate® Programme
Primary Years Programme
The Primary Years Programme (PYP) prepares students to become active, caring, lifelong learners who demonstrate respect for themselves and others and have the capacity to participate in the world around them.
Middle Years Programme
The Middle Years Programme (MYP) has been designed as a coherent and comprehensive curriculum framework that provides academic challenge and develops the life skills of students from the ages of 11 to 16.
Diploma Programme
The IB Diploma Programme (DP) is an academically challenging and balanced Programme of education with final examinations that prepares students from the ages 16 to 19, for success at university and life beyond

EOTC and Community Engagement
BIS’ core values are integral to the notion of helping individuals and groups to become responsible members of local, national and global communities.
Indeed, the aim of all IB Programmes is to develop internationally-minded people who can help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
Co-Curricular Activities
Co-Curricular Activities provide the opportunity for students to try out new things, meet friends of other grade levels and follow their interests.
Participating strengthens their self-esteem and engages them with the larger school community. We offer activities Monday to Friday from 3pm-4pm.

Meet our Teachers
BIS teachers are experienced, dedicated and IB trained international teachers. We have 48 teachers and 21 Indonesian teaching partners. Over 80% of our teachers are expats. The average teaching experience at BIS is 16 years and more than half of our teachers have a Masters Degree.
All BIS students benefit from our team of Specialist Teachers who integrate their expertise through Modern Languages, Music, and Physical Education. We also have a counselor, who provides support for social–emotional needs and university orientation.
Our selection process for new teachers is strict to secure a world-class education.
