Student Leadership

At BIS, we believe that leadership isn’t a title, it’s an action. As a CIS-accredited IB Continuum school, our leadership programs are designed to transform students from passive learners into proactive, ethical global citizens.

Our framework combines the IB International Mindeness with the CIS Standards for Global Citizenship, ensuring our students aren’t just high-achievers, but compassionate stewards of their community.

  •  PYP: Even our youngest learners take the lead through the PYP Exhibition and classroom roles that foster “student agency” the power to own their learning and influence their environment.

  • MYP: Through Service as Action (SaA), students lead community initiatives that bridge classroom theory with local and global needs.
  • DP: Our senior students spearhead CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) projects, managing large-scale events and mentoring younger peers, preparing them for the leadership demands of top-tier universities.

Formal Leadership Leadership Groups

  • Student  Council (Stuco): Elected representatives collaborate with school leadership to build community and provide student voice into decisions making from K-12

  • House Captains: Fostering healthy competition, spirit, and peer-to-peer mentorship across all grade levels.
