We would love to show you around our school. Please come and visit us! You are welcome to come by the school every day Monday to Friday 8 AM to 4 PM.
We accept applications throughout the year. Our school year starts in August and ends in June, divided into 4 terms. Our admissions is on a first-come, first-served basis, whereby transferring the application fee is saving the seat for your child.
A lot is happening at BIS! Our community eNews site is the first place to go to hear the latest school updates and celebrate student learning. For security reasons, access is restricted to the BIS community.

The foundation governs the school as set forth in the Articles of Association, By-laws and Policies. The institution falls under the legal jurisdiction of the laws, rules and regulations of the Republic of Indonesia.
Bali Island School is a legally registered school operating under the foundation, Yayasan Bali International School (YBIS).
As per Indonesian law, the foundation consists of three board tiers: an Advisory Board (Pembina), a Board of Directors (Pengurus) and a Supervisory Board (Pengawas). The Boards are governed by legally binding Articles of Association that are registered with the Indonesian Ministry of Law and Human Rights.
The Governing Advisory Board (Pembina) have ultimate authority over the strategic direction of the foundation. They are charged with approving the strategic plan of the foundation, the budget and have the sole authority to ratify the foundation’s legal documents and policies. They retain the authority to appoint and release the members of the Board.
The Board of Directors (Pengurus) is responsible for the management of the Foundation. Among their main functions are to ensure that the foundation is in full compliance with Indonesian regulations, they hold fiduciary responsibility of the entire foundation, they hire the Head of School and ensure that he or she has the resources necessary to run the school in accordance with existing policies and ensure the foundation is living up to the mission and vision. The Board of Directors work closely with the Head of School who provides the necessary information, proposals and reviews to enable the board to make informed decisions.
The Board of Supervisors (Pengawas) performs an oversight function to ensure the actions of the Board of Directors and the School operations are in accordance with the existing laws and the foundations guiding documents. They report directly to the Governing Advisory Board.
Members of the Board of Directors and Supervisory Board are appointed by the Governing Board of Advisors for a 5-year term and may be reappointed.
Aside from being accountable to Indonesian law, the YBIS governance model and implementation is reviewed by our accrediting agencies, the Badan Akreditasi Nasional (BAN), the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) as well as the International Baccalaureate (IB).
